Webinar "The Luxembourg Economy: Perspectives and Challenges"
On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, the Business Clubs of Luxembourg-Germany (BCLD), France-Luxembourg (BCFL), Belgium-Luxembourg (BCBL) and Luxembourg-United Kingdom (BCLUK) hosted the webinar "The Luxembourg Economy: Perspectives and Challenges". The event was organised in collaboration with the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) and with the support of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce as part of their efforts to provide informed perspectives on current economic developments.
Tom Haas, Director of STATEC, presented an overview of Luxembourg’s evolving economic landscape. He highlighted a cautiously improving outlook, the continued importance of the financial sector, and the effects of global trade tensions on key export industries. His intervention also covered investment trends driven by lower interest rates, wage and inflation developments, as well as the first signs of a labour market turnaround.
Mr. Haas further addressed long‑term growth challenges linked to demographics, progress in renewable energy and emissions, and STATEC’s latest insights on how artificial intelligence may reshape productivity and skills needs in the years ahead.
The recording of the webinar is available here.
