The University of Luxembourg and Paul Wurth strengthen cooperation in engineering education

The University of Luxembourg and Paul Wurth signed an agreement for teaching collaboration. Under that framework, highly qualified engineers and researchers from the Luxembourg-based company Paul Wurth will give lectures in engineering at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication. The contract was signed on Wednesday, 31 August 2016 in the presence of Paul Heuschling, Dean of the Faculty, Hans-Jürgen Lessmann, Senior Vice President Global HR, and Stefan Heilmann, Senior, Manager HR of Paul Wurth.

Under the present contract, engineers and researchers from Paul Wurth will give lectures to bachelor and master students in engineering. In a first period, the courses given by Paul Wurth engineers will focus on state-of-the-art technologies, such as project management techniques in "machine-plant and civil engineering", "engineering drawings" and "materials science". In the further course of this cooperation, the University and Paul Wurth will decide together in which other field of engineering science the teaching collaboration is meaningful.

Students will learn a lot from the "field perspective" and they will have the chance to discover the latest technologies, to understand industry issues and to get an idea about the development of their individual competences which will be useful for a career as an engineer working in industry.
